President Sergio Mattarella has approved the nomination of Patricia O'Brien as Ireland's new ambassador to Italy, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.
O'Brien had served as Ireland's ambassador to France and Monaco since 2017. She was previously Ireland's permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva.
