Pope Francis on Tuesday sought divine forgiveness for his sins and help to "persevere " in his religious calling.
"I seek (God's) pardon for my sins," Francis said during a mass at the Vatican's Pauline Chapel to mark the 25th anniversary of his ordination as a bishop.
"I pray that I will be able to persevere in my faith, hope and charitable works," Francis went on.
"And I ask the Lord to bless you and guide you in your service to the Church," he said.
