Pope Francis will meet United States president Donald Trump on 24 May at the Vatican, the Holy See said on Thursday.
A statement said the meeting would take place at 8.30 am in the Vatican's Apostolic Palace.
Trump will also meet Vatican secretary of state Pietro Parolin and secretary for relations with states Paul Gallagher, according to the statement.
Trump's visit to the Vatican will come amid his first overseas trip as president which will also include Saudi Arabia and Israel, according to a senior administration official.
His tour will conclude with his stops at a NATO meeting in Brussels on 25 May and at the G7 summit in Sicily the following day.
