Russian air strikes killed six civilians among them five children near the western Syrian city of Homs, a local report said on Friday.
Russian war planes dropped thermobaric bombs on residential buildings in Rastan, south of Homs, said the News4Syria Arabic website, which is close to the Syrian opposition.
The children who died in the bombings were all aged under 10 and three were siblings, the website reported, citing local activists.
Besides killing six civilians, the air raids injured dozens of people and caused massive damage, News4Syria said.
Russian bombardments have killed over 3,000 civilians in Syria since they began on 30 September 2015, according to the pro-opposition watchdog the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Russia has killed more civilians in Syria than the Islamic State jihadist group according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights.
