International sanctions against Russia should continue, as should the supply of weapons to Ukraine in its week-old counteroffensive, Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio said on Wednesday.
"Sanctions against Russia must go on...and if Ukraine continues to ask for arms, we must supply these, Di Maio told TV channel La7's 'Tagadà' programme.
Di Maio's comments came as Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky claimed the country’s armed forces were moving forward “towards victory” in the 203-day-old war with Russia, reclaiming hundreds of villages in northeast Ukraine after a significant counteroffensive over the past week.
