Italy's foreign ministry and government are to cooperate more closely on the cases of missing citizens under a new agreement signed by the ministry's secretary-general Ettore Sequi and national commissioner for the disappeared, Silvana Riccio.
"The agreement concerns in particular the exchange of information on searches for fellow countrymen who have disappeared abroad, on the cases of untraceable minors and on the victims of international abductions," said a statement from the ministry.
"This strengthened communication channel, which will involve the entire network of Italian embassies and Consulates abroad, will aim to aid searches," the statement went on.
