Police on Tuesday arrested a Somali asylum-seeker for allegedly molesting an eight-year-old boy in Fiano Romano north of the Italian capital Rome, police said on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Somali is accused of "sexual violence" against the boy, who was left in a state of shock after the alleged attack on Monday around 6pm as he played football with a friend outside his home. The boy and his friend told his mother of the attack, who reported it to police.
The Somali is currently in prison in Rieti, where prosecutors are evaluating his case. Prior to the alleged attack, he was staying in a migrant centre in the nearby town of Monterotondo.
