A 17-year-old schoolboy fell to his death early on Thursday from a sixth-floor hotel room in Milan while on a trip with classmates to the Expo 2015 trade fair.
Emergency services were called in at 5.39 am but the teenager was declared dead at the scene.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
The youth, from a high school in the Tuscan port city of Livorno had travelled to Milan on Wednesday with his class and had been due to visit Expo on Thursday.
On 10 May, another high school student, 19-year-old Domenico Maurantonio, plunged to his death from a Milan hotel room while on a visit to Expo with his class. It is believed he lost his balance and fell from the balcony of his fifth-floor hotel room.
