Two women were among three outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants killed Monday in an operation in southeast Turkey, state-run Anadolu news agency reports.
The PKK militants were detected by a pilotless drone in the village of Gunesli in Siirt province's Merkez district, Anadolu cited security sources as saying.
Fighting between Turkish security forces and the PKK resumed in July last year after a cease-fire collapsed. Over 700 members of state forces and around 8,000 PKK militants have been killed since then, according to Anadolu.
The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
