Britain's minister for the Middle East, Alistair Burt will take part in an international conference on stabilising Libya being held by the Italian government in Palermo, Libya on Monday and Tuesday, Adnkronos has learned.
Libya's United Nations backed premier Fayez Sarraj has said he will attend the Palermo summit. However, powerful eastern Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar's presence at the summit is in doubt after a Libyan website close to Haftar cited sources as saying earlier this week he would not be coming.
Italy hopes that all of Libya's main power-brokers will attend the conference as well as key international players.
