Despite Russia's military might, Italy's premier Mario Draghi is right that Ukraine can win the 78-day-old conflict with Russia, according to the war-afflicted country's president, Volodymyr Zelenksy
"The Russian armed forces are ten times bigger than ours, their country is ten times the size of ours, but we are ten times stronger as people," Zelenksy said in comments to Italy's state broadcaster RAI 1.
"We are not (fighting) on equal terms, but the world is united around us," Zelensky said in remarks to the Porta Porta late-night chat show that airs on Thursday.
"Draghi is right: we can win because we are fighting for the truth and cannot be alone in this," Zelensky underlined.
Zelensky made the remarks after Draghi told reporters on Thursday that "there is certainly no longer a Goliath" in Russia's offensive in Ukraine.
"What had seemed like an invincible power in the field ...has proved to be a non-invincible power," Draghi went on, referring to Russia.
Although many analysts predicted a swift victory for Moscow, Russian forces have suffered repeated setbacks on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Russia invaded its southern neighbour on 24 February, saying it wanted to destroy Ukraine's military capabilities and capture what it regards as dangerous nationalists in Kiev.
