Italy's premier Mario Draghi held talks in Rome on Tuesday with Georgia's president Salome Zourabichvili during her official visit to Italy, Draghi's office said in a statement.
Upon her arrival at the prime minister's office (Palazzo Chigi), Zourabichvili received a full military salute before her meeting with Draghi, which lasted around an hour.
"Italy has long supported and will continue to back Georgia’s territorial integrity and European integration path," Zourabichvili tweeted after the meeting.
"Thank you to premier Mario Draghi for his reception and his strong, categorical words of support," the tweet added.
Earlier, Zourabichvili had talks at the Quirinale Palace with Italy's president, Sergio Mattarella. Foreign minister Luigi Di Maio also attended the meeting, the Qurinale said in a statement.
