Italy's president Sergio Mattarella held talks with his Tajik counterpart, Emomalī Rahmon at the Quirinal Palace in Rome, Mattarella's office said in a statement.
Italy's deputy foreign minister Edmondo Cirielli also attended Mattarella and Rahmon's talks, which were followed by lunch, the statement said.
