"Great friendship" binds Italy and the Palestine, and the Palestinian Authority is still a key interlocutor, also on the international stage, president Sergio Mattarella told PA president Mahmoud Abbas during talks at the Quirinal Palace in Rome on Friday.
"It is a real pleasure to speak with you, confirming the great friendship that binds Palestine and Italy," Mattarella said.
"And this period has drawn us together in an especially close way, consolidating this great friendship," Mattarella said, referring to the Israel-Gaza war.
The West-Bank based PA "is still crucial for Italy and the international community at this time - to an intense degree," Mattarella underlined.
