A man was arrested Wednesday on the Italian island of Sardinia for allegedly shooting dead a neighbour who won back possession of a garage from him after a court ruling.
Police arrested 73-year-old Stefano Maloccu on suspicion of murdering 62-year-old local businessman Mario Tronci outside his home near the Sardinian town of Nuoro late on Tuesday.
Maloccu had barricaded himself in his home and threatened to blow it up after he allegedly shot Tronci in the head, shoulder and chest in the village of Fonni, according to investigators.
When police broke into Maloccu's property, they found him still armed with a Walter 7.65 calibre pistol.
Malocco, who previously owned a gunsmith's store, was on 16 June ordered to vacate a garage belonging to Tronci after he lost a long-running court case.
