Italy's foreign minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi will open the second Italy-Africa conference in Rome on Wednesday, an event due to be attended by representatives from 42 African countries and numerous international organisations, the foreign ministry announced.
Also present at the opening of the conference will be the president of the MAXXI foundation and ex-culture minister Giovanna Melandri, the foreign ministry said.
The event is taking place at MAXXI - National Museum of the 21st Century Arts and delegates will receive a presentation of 'Italy, Culture and Africa' - a programme of events being held in 2019 to build dialogue and cultural interchange between Italy and Africa, said the ministry.
Conferees will also be able to visit the 'African Metropolis. An imaginary city' (exhibition on Africa's art scene which is showing at MAXXI through 4 November), the ministry stated.
