United States secretary of state John Kerry is due to attend a meeting in Rome next month of members of the international coalition against the Islamic State jihadist group, Italy's foreign ministry said in a statement.
Italy's foreign minister Paolo Gentiloni will chair the Rome meeting slated for 2 February and the US special envoy to the 23-member coalition, Brett Mc Gurk, will also attend.
At the end of the meeting, in the early afternoon, Gentiloni and Kerry are expected to give a joint press conference, the statement said.
Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark Egypt, the United Emirates , France, Germany, Jordan, Iraq, Italy, Kuwait, Norway, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Qatar, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and Turkey belong to the anti-IS coalition.
