Brazil, heavy rains in the southeast, at least 53 dead

The official death toll from the heavy rains that have hit southeastern Brazil in recent days has risen to at least 53. The most affected areas were Juiz de Fora and Ubá, in the state of Minas Gerais, where the highest number of victims and missing persons are reported. The rains are expected to continue in the coming hours.
