Italy's education ministry (MIUR) will spearhead a European project to boost human resources in Israel and help develop its human capital by improving the country's quality of education and training, the foreign ministry said on its website on Tuesday.
Promoting equal opportunities for all citizens through life-long learning is a further objective of the project, the foreign ministry stated.
MUIR was awarded the project in conjunction with the Italian economy and finance ministry's in-house company Studiare Sviluppo and the Information Centre on Academic Mobility and Equivalence (CIMEA) consultancy, the foreign ministry said.
The foreign ministry is the national contact point for the project which falls within the scope of the European Union and Israel's Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement and its implementation, the ministry said.
The ministry coordinates with Italy's local authorities and the European Commission to foster the exchange of administrative experiences and activities in support of the EU’s sixteen eastern and southern neighbouring countries and the seven enlargement countries.
