A 50-year-old man died of his injuries from an explosion at a fireworks factory near the southern city of Naples on Thursday, bringing the death toll to four. Several people were injured in the accident.
Salvatore Schiattarella died of severe burns at the Cardarelli hospital in Naples, where he was admitted on Wednesday after the blast at the factory in Giugliano in Campania.
Schiattarella's older brother Raffaele, 55,who owned the factory, was also killed by the powerful explosion, which could be heard several kilometres away.
A fire broke out after the explosion, which investigators believe may have been caused by human error.
There have been several similar accidents at fireworks plants in recent years, including one that injured two people in central Italy. Blasts in 2013 and 2014 killed eight people in southern Italy.
