Italy is Albania's biggest trading partner and plans to set up a permanent bilateral commission to further strengthen the two countries' "excellent" economic ties, premier Giuseppe Conte said on Thursday.
"Italy and Albania have excellent economic ties," Conte told reporters after he held talks in Rome with his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama.
Italy is already Albania's top trading partner but both countries "are actively committed to doing more and to doing it better," Conte said.
"For this reason, we have agreed to set up a permanent bilateral economic commission that will identify new investment opportunities for Italian firms in Albania as well the main obstacles," Conte said.
The planned commission will allow the government to better help Italian companies that want to do more business with Albania, Conte said.
