Some 1,000 Italian citizens returned home in the past three days from the UK, Belgium, Bangladesh, Colombia, the Domenican Republic, Spain and Portugal, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The foreign ministry said it has arranged the repatriation of 96,200 Italians stranded in 119 countries as states closed their borders and halted international flights when the Covid-19 pandemic began earlier this year.
