Italy's populist premier Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday urged a "serious" debate of fiscal dumping by the European Union and slammed unfair competition due to countries that were "effectively tax havens" .
"We need to start a serious debate in Europe on fiscal dumping," Conte told the annual meeting of the Rete imprese Italia business association.
"It cannot be that in such an integrated system as the EU, there are countries which are effectively tax havens, making it extremely difficult to compete."
