Italy "support the fight against anti-Semitism," foreign minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi tweeted on Thursday from New York, where 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly is taking place.
"Italy supports fight against anti-Semitism promoting several initiatives including those of the OCSE Chairmanship 2018," read the tweet.
Moavero "had a fruitful meeting with main American Jewish associations to underline friendship between Italy, the Jewish world and Israel," the tweet said.
Italy holds the rotating chairmanship of the 57-member Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe this year.
Italy lists the Ukraine crisis, migration and security in the Mediterranean, human rights and combating all forms of discrimination and intolerance as among its priorities for is OCSE chairmanship.
