The government is hammering out a blueprint aimed at re-launching tourism in coronavirus-ravaged Italy, foreign minister Luigi Di Maio announced on Friday.
"We are working on a summer plan to revive our domestic economy also by attracting tourists from abroad," Di Maio wrote in Facebook post addressed at shopkeepers, businesses and artisans.
"You are our pride and joy," added the post. It showed a video of restaurant staff in Naples standing along the city's promenade to clap for health service workers.
