Italy's populist premier Giuseppe Conte was on Friday due to give a speech in Rome to mark the International Labour Organisation's 100th anniversary, Conte's office said in a statement.
The event was slated to take place at Rome's Campidoglio town hall, said the statement.
The ILO - a specialised United Nations agency - is headquartered in Geneva and has an office in Rome and is also represented in Italy by the International Training Centre in Turin.
Founded in 1919, the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers of 187 member states in order to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men, according to its website.
