Foreign minister Luigi Di Maio on Monday paid tribute to Italian actress, singer, dancer and TV presenter Raffaella Carrà, who has died aged 78, saying the star "will always be in our hearts".
"An Italian TV icon, someone that generations grew up with. Her passing leaves a huge void and so much sadness," Di Maio wrote on social media.
"My thoughts are with her family. Farewell Raffaella. You'll always be in our hearts," the post added.
Carrà died after an illness, her partner Sergio Iapino announced on Monday. The talented entertainment icon had a career that spanned seven decades.
