Egypt's prosecutor general, Hisham Barakat was wounded in a bombing that targeted his convoy in the capital Cairo on Monday, official daily Al-Ahram said on its website, citing security officials.
Barakat's convoy was hit near the military academy in Heliopolis, Al-Ahram reported, citing a security source.
He is being treated at Al-Nozha hospital in Heliopolis and was "in good condition," police were quoted as telling news agency AFP.
Two members of the security forces and one civilian were also injured in the attack, according to Egypt's state news agency MENA.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility reported for the attack.
