Pope Francis will visit Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic during a six-day visit to Africa in November, the Vatican said on Thursday. It will be Francis' first visit to Africa during his papacy.
The pontiff accepted invitations to visit the three African countries from their heads of state respective and bishops' conferences, the Vatican said in a statement that also gave the dates of his trip.
"His Holiness Francis will make an Apostolic Trip to Kenya from 25 to 27 November 2015, Uganda from 27 to 29 November, and the Central African Republic from 29 to 30 November," the Vatican statement said.
"The programme of the trip will be published in due course," the statement added.
Francis is due to make his first visit Cuba and the United States from 19-27 September.
