Italy on Friday voiced support for European Union candidate country Serbia's entry to the 27-member bloc and said it wants to bolster ties with the Balkan nation.
"Foreign ministry secretary-general Ettore Sequi met with Serbian Ambassador Goran Aleksi," read a tweet from the foreign ministry.
"Fruitful exchange of views on: Italy's support to Serbia's EU accession process; strengthening bilateral cooperation; and the situation in the Western Balkans, also in light of the conflict in Ukraine," the tweet added.
