Multilateralism is vital for global recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic and is also essential for sustainable economic development, Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio believes.
"Multilateralism and joint decisions that are taken at world level are essential for economic recovery and sustainable development," Di Maio wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
Di Maio was writing from Sorrento, where he chaired the G20 Trade Ministerial Meeting.
"Now we must strengthen the multilateral trade system," the post added.
Inclusive, sustainable economic recovery and development, as well as the energy transition are key focuses of Italy's G20 presidency this year.
