Foreign minister Luigi Di Maio aims to serve Italy "with his heart and soul" and it is "a privilege and a source of pride" to do, Di Maio tweeted on Thursday.
"Each day, with heart and soul, for Italy," the tweet began.
"Serving Italy is a privilege, a source of pride and an honour," the tweet went on.
"Now more than ever, I go to bed knowing I still need to do more for Italians."
Italy is currently battling a dramatic outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus. The epidemic has killed over 25,500 people and infected close to 190,000 since February and brought Italy's economy to a standstill.
Thirty-three-year-old Di Maio became Italy's foreign minister last September. The ex-leader of Italy's anti-establishment 5-Star Movement, Di Maio was previously labour and industry minister, deputy premier and lower house of parliament speaker.
