Italy's foreign minister Antonio Tajani has deplored the deadly shooting at a Jehovah's Witness hall in Hamburg, northern Germany, late on Thursday, calling the attack "shameful".
"I am closely following the developments in the massacre at a Jehovah's Witness hall in Hamburg," Tajani tweeted on Friday.
"My condolences to the victims and those who were injured in this shameful attack," the tweet added.
Police are searching for a possible motive for the attack in which eight people were killed, including - it is believed - the gunman, and several people were injured, some of them seriously.
