United States president Joe Biden underscored his country's "friendship and strong partnership" with Italy ahead of talks in Washington with premier Mario Draghi, which will centre on the Ukraine conflict.

"I look forward to reaffirming the friendship and strong partnership between our two nations and discussing our ongoing support for Ukraine," the tweet underlined.
Besides Russia's 79-day-old invasion of Ukraine, energy security, fighting climate change, relaunching the world economy and developing transatlantic security are among other global challenges on the agenda.
