Progress in political dialogue between Libya's warring sides were a focus Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio's phone talks on Friday with his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, as well the disputed Western Sahara territory, the Middle East peace process and bilateral ties, the foreign ministry stated.
"On the agenda: recent developments in the Libyan political dialogue, the Western Sahara, the normalising of ties between Israel and Morocco, the peace process and the strategic partnership," read a foreign ministry tweet.
Morocco on Thursday became the fourth Arab state since August to normalise relations with Israel in a deal brokered with US help.
As part of the deal, the US has agreed to recognise Morocco's claim over the Western Sahara region which is the subject of a dispute with the separatist Polisario Front movement backed by Algeria.
