God gives Christians hope if they come out of their shells and open their hearts to Him, Pope Francis said on Wednesday.
"Christian hope is a gift that God gives us if we come out of ourselves and open our hearts to him," Francis tweeted.
Francis has over 22 million followers of his nine-language @Pontifex account on Twitter.
He leads an estimated 1.2 billion Catholics worldwide.
