Italy and the Czech Republic will coordinate more closely on the main international issues and bolster their economic, trade and cultural ties, the foreign ministry tweeted on Tuesday.
"Foreign minister Luigi Di Maio and his Czech counterpart Jan Lipavsky signed a memorandum on cooperation between the Italian and Czech foreign ministries for more structured coordination and greater synergies on international and European questions," read the tweet.
During their meeting during a visit by Di Maio to the Czech Republic, he and Lipavsky agreed on the need to strengthen political relations and for European cooperation, also during the Czech Republic's upcoming EU presidency, said an earlier tweet.
Also on the meeting agenda were the conflict in Ukraine, which began when Russia invaded the country on 24 February, and consolidating the bilateral economic and trade partnership, according to the tweet.
