Italy on Friday paid tribute to the United Nations' vital role in world peace and security, hailing the work of the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.
"Italy is firmly convinced of the crucial role of the UN to build peace and security worldwide," read a foreign ministry tweet.
"Proud to support UNDPPA and its activities to prevent and resolve conflicts for the years to come."
Italy has made a million euro contribution to UNDPPA through its multi-year appeal.
