Ukraine has the entire world's backing, Italy's premier Mario Draghi said on Thursday during a visit to the war-wracked country with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron.
"The world is on your side," Draghi told a Ukrainian military commander in Irpin, the northen suburb of Kiev where Ukraine alleges large-scale atrocities committed by Russian forces during their occupation of the area in March.
Draghi, Scholz and Macron arrived in Kiev in a show of support for Ukraine - their first visit to Ukraine since the Russian invasion on 24 February.
The three European leaders were due to hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss possible ways to end the war and the crippling Russian naval blockade grain stored in Ukraine's ports.
Earlier, Draghi, Scholz and Macron had a two-hour meeting aboard a train on their way to Kiev.
