Climate change mitigation and policies to safeguard food security were the focus of "cordial and fruitful" talks between Italy's deputy foreign minister Emanuela Del Re and Norway's state secretary for international development Aksel Jakobsen in Rome on Wednesday.
A "broad consensus" on overseas aid priorities emerged at the meeting between Del and Jakobsen, which took place on the sidelines of the Exco2019 international cooperation trade fair in Rome, according to the Italian side.
Jakobsen tweeted from the fair that there was "shared vision" between Norway and Italy on issues around climate change and food security.
He had warm praise for Italy's organisation of Exco2019, which around a dozen Norwegian companies are attending.
Representatives from institutions and from the private sector from all over the world have flocked to Exco2019, the first fair of its kind which is taking place from Wednesday through Friday.
