Simon Joslin was appointed the new Regional Head of Retail & Lifestyle for West Europe at the beginning of April. He brings a wealth of experience to the job after working in the international logistics and supply chain industry for 24 years.
Simon joined Damco UK & Ireland in 2010 as Director of Strategic Development, before becoming Chief Commercial Officer with responsibility for sales and marketing.
Increased globalisation and fast-changing trends have set new logistical challenges for the retail and lifestyle industries. Damco has vast experience in the retail sector and the ambition to grow even more in this area. "We have the global knowledge and know-how to ensure the right products are in place, at the right time and the right cost," says Charles van der Steene, West Europe CCO. "Simon has substantial knowledge of the retail and lifestyle sector, which he will bring to bear in his new position in the West Europe region where he is charged with accelerating growth. With his in-depth knowledge of the international supply chain, Simon brings value to customers by supporting their business growth, building strategic supply chain objectives in sourcing areas and Omni-channel, and delivering their corporate goals. Before joining Damco, Simon held several senior positions within APL Logistics and NYK Logistics. Based in The Hague, he is married with two children.
