European foreign ministers have expressed support for a European Union mission to war-wracked Libya proposed by Italy in recent days, foreign ministry sources told Adnkronos on Friday.
"This is a major step forward but we are still working out some of the details. The only possible solution to the Libyan crisis is political, not military," the sources underlined.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told Libyan foreign minister Mohammed Taher Siyala that the mission would take place on 7 January, according to the Libyan foreign ministry's website.
