Pope Francis will bring a message of peace and reconciliation for the entire Caucus region in his upcoming visit to Georgia and Azerbaijan beginning this week, Vatican spokesman Greg Burke said on Monday.
Francis will celebrate two masses including an open-air one at a football stadium in the Georgian capital Tbilisi during his visit to the region from Friday to Sunday. He will also make eight address during meetings with top Georgian and Azerbaijani officials, Muslim and Jewish leaders, leaders of the Orthodox Church and Georgia's Assyrian Chaldean community.
Francis paid an three-day visit to Armenia in June.
