Islamic State issues call to jihad in Brussels attacks video

The Islamic State jihadist group on Thursday released a new propaganda urging its supporters to exalt in the deadly attacks on Brussels and to wage holy war.

The nine-minute video called 'The Exile Of Islam and The Brussels Attacks' was released by the pro-IS Battar Media Foundation and shared on social media by IS followers.

It begins with footage from the aftermath of the Brussels bombings and a still image of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump engulfed in flames with a recent audio clip of Trump's comments on the attacks.

"Brussels was one of the great, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, 20 years ago. It was amazing actually, and safe. Now, it's an absolute horror show," Trump states.

The video shows medical workers helping victims and security forces guarding the streets of the Belgian capital as well as the training of Belgian militants suspected in the 13 November shooting and suicide bombing rampage by IS that killed 130 people in Paris.

IS notes in the video that Belgium was part of the international coalition fighting its militants in the Middle East.

“The Crusade jets including the Belgian [sic] are still bombing the Muslims in Iraq and Levant in the day and the night, killing children, women, old, and destroying mosques and schools,” an Arabic speaker says.

In other footage, jihadis fire automatic weapons to the sound of an Arabic song, “Brothers rise up! Claim your victory! Haya! (Let’s go!) Let’s go for Jihad!”.

English subtitles placed over the footage repeatedly urge Muslims to defend their lands and follow in the path of their "rightful predecessors".

IS claimed Tuesday's suicide blasts at Brussels international airport and a city metro station in which over 30 people were killed and several hundred injured. Investigators believe the same jihadist network carried out the Brussels attacks as those in Paris in November.
