The eastern Mediterranean and bolstering Italy's economic, scientific and cultural ties with Israel were the focus of talks Wednesday in Rome between foreign ministry secretary-general Ettore Sequi and Israel's ambassador designate Alon Bar.
Sequi met Bar "for discussions centred on bilateral ties and the regional context, with special reference to the eastern Mediterranean," said a foreign ministry statement.
During their talks, Sequi and Bar "underlined the multidimensional partnership between Italy and Israel for the stability of the Mediterranean area and its potential in the economic, scientific and cultural sphere," the statement said.
