Italy will help continue immunization programmes for 300 million child through its further funding of the Vaccine Alliance (Gavi) and efforts to ensure a Covid-19 jab is made available to all, premier Giuseppe Conte tweeted on Thursday.
"Italy confirms its support to global cooperation against Covid-19," Conte tweeted.
"Today I announced additional contributions from Italy to Gavi to continue immunization programs for 300 million children and to accelerate an equitable distribution of a Covid-19 vaccine."
Since it appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, the Covid-19 coronavirus has spread around the world, infecting at least 6,551,290 people and killing at least 386,795, according to Johns Hopkins University.
