Italy's interior minister Luciana Lamorgese and Kosovan counterpart Agim Veliu on Thursday signed a bilateral agreement to strengthen police collaboration on counter-terrorism and on fighting cross-border organised crime including migrant, drugs and arms trafficking.
Under the accord, Italy and Kosovo will share security information in a "structural" way, coordinate police operations and exchange experts and plan training activities, the statement said.
“As has unfortunately also been shown by the recent attacks, international terrorism represents our greatest challenge and for this reason we need to hone cooperation between states”, declared Minister Lamorgese.
Italy and Kosovo have already had "positive experiences" in the field of anti-terrorism cooperation, Lamorgese told Veliu during their talks, the statement said.
