The Italian lower house of parliament's committee probing researcher Giulio Regeni's unsolved 2016 murder in Egypt will on Thursday quiz foreign minister Luigi Di Maio on the case, the parliament said in a statement.
The hearing is set for 16.30 pm local time and will be live-streamed on the parliament's website, according to the statement.
Regeni, a Cambridge University doctoral student, was researching the politically sensitive topic of independent trade unions at the time of his disappearance in Cairo on 25 January 2016. His battered corpse was found nine days later alongside the Cairo-Alexandria highway.
Italy has ordered four senior Egyptian security officials to stand trial in absentia in October for Regeni's abduction, torture and killing.
