Italy's foreign under-secretary Ivan Scalfarotto on Monday attended the launch of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce's new head office in Shanghai, the foreign ministry tweeted.
"Inaugurated today @ItalyinShanghai the new headquarters of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce in the presence of foreign under-secretary @ivanscalfarotto," read the tweet.
Italian companies with operations in China are playing a vital role in turning "excellent" bilateral relations into "something concrete", foreign minister Luigi Di Maio told a local business delegation in Shanghai earlier this month.
Di Maio attended the second China International Import Expo in Shanghai, where he vowed to promote exports of Italian goods to the world's second largest economy.
During his two-day visit to Shanghai on 4-5 November, Di Maio said he had clinched deals with China "that were long on ice" including in the agri-food sector.
