The foreign ministry on Wednesday sent good wishes to Italy's new envoy to Bulgaria, Giuseppina Zarra, saying it wanted to renew the "historic" ties binding the two European Union and Nato members.
"In Bulgaria to re-launch our historic ties of friendship and to work together within the framework of the priorities and values of the European Union and Nato," read the tweet.
"All the best to our new ambassador to Bulgaria in Sofia, Giuseppina Zarra. Wishing you every success in your work!"
